Join us for Alumni Weekend & Homecoming 2018, November 1-3, to honor ’Canes football great, Greg Mark, B.S.C. ’90, as the 2018 Grand Marshal!

As a standout defensive lineman on the University of Miami football team from 1986 to 1989, Mark helped UM win two National Championships. During his senior season in 1989, Mark had 15.5 sacks (the second most sacks in a season in UM history) and he was named an Associated Press and Kodak All-American, and a finalist for The Rotary Lombardi Award, which is annually awarded to the best lineman or linebacker in college football. Mark finished his collegiate career with 34.5 sacks, which is second in UM history for career sacks, and was drafted by the New York Giants in 1990.

After his playing career, Mark went on to serve for 13 seasons as a member of UM’s defensive line coaching staff, including Defensive Line Coach from 1996-2005. During his tenure, Mark coached many of the best defensive lines in all of college football, including the defensive line on the 2001 National Championship team. As Defensive Line Coach, Mark developed a long line of standout defensive linemen, including Warren Sapp, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Vince Wilfork.

Mark was inducted into the UM Sports Hall of Fame in 2003, and continues to be a proud supporter of his alma mater, where he met his wife, Jessica, B.H.S. ’99, M.S.P.T. ’02, who was a member of the University of Miami Sunsations Dance Team.
